Consent

Since March 2024 Google requires Consent Mode v2 from advertisers in the EU. If it isn't set up right, you lose remarketing and conversion data in Google Ads. At the same time your banner has to meet the GDPR and the guidance of your data protection authority. We handle both, and make sure your tags respect the visitor's choice.

What we often hear

  • Since the new cookie banner, our numbers dropped a lot
  • We don't know if our banner complies with the rules
  • Google Ads shows a warning about Consent Mode
  • We suspect tags fire before anyone gives consent

What we do

Cookie banner

Set up in Cookiebot or the consent platform you already use, with categories that match what your site does.

Consent Mode v2

Defaults and updates set so Google gets the right signals, also when a visitor declines.

Tags that listen

Every tag in Google Tag Manager (GTM) fires only with the right consent. We test that per category.

Cookie scan

We map which cookies your site sets, including those from scripts outside GTM.

What we work with

“Very satisfied with Freek & Co! They took care of the entire tracking and consent mode for one of our clients. No hassle, a lot of expertise, and above all, top quality!”

Frequently asked questions

How much data does consent cost?

That can run up to 20 percent of your visitors. That data is gone. With Consent Mode, Google can model part of it if you have enough traffic.

Do you only work with Cookiebot?

No. We work with Cookiebot most often, but we set up other consent platforms too.

Does this make my banner legally compliant?

We set it up following the guidance of the data protection authorities and Google. We don't give a legal opinion on your privacy policy; that's work for a lawyer.

How to buy it

We work in three steps: first look at what's there, then build, then make sure it keeps working.
